Digiweb Lands a Hosting Deal with Ask.com

Ask.com of the Ask Jeeves website has inked a deal with Dublin-based hosting provider Digiweb to host the site’s European IT infrastructure. Ask Jeeves is one of the largest internet brands in the United Kingdom with a reach of about 39 percent of internet users in the region.

According to the deal, the Digiweb’s data center in Dublin will house Ask.com’s entire European IT infrastructure.
The website currently receives over 15 million unique users every month in the UK. Ask.com decided to migrate its whole IT infrastructure in Europe to a more secure data center in order to make sure that users get uninterrupted connectivity and a round-the-clock access to all its websites by clients.

Ask.com chose Digiweb’s hosting services because the company offers an independent national telecoms network as well as a dedicated data center facility that comes with high levels of resilience, capacity and security.
Users of Ask Jeeves require availability of the search engine 24/7, says European operations manager for Ask.com Caitriona O’Sullivan. She adds that the company was impressed by the ability of Digiweb to serve the site’s clients through efficient network operations and data center facilities in Blanchadstown.
After the successful migration to the Dublin data center, Digiweb will now start hosting the websites run by Ask.com including the Ask Jeeves search engine. In order to guarantee site availability, the company will also provide Ask.com a tailored security and managed hosting solution. It will also offer voice and data connectivity for Ask.com’s team based in Ireland.
Digiweb CEO Colm Piercy explains that his company has devoted a lot of time and resources on the construction of a data center in order to host some of the world’s most popular websites from the Ireland facility.
