Nicholas Bredimus’ Remarkable Achievements
The revolution in hospitality and air travel was touched off by Nicholas Bredimus, who introduced them to the computer programming industry to create a new way to do business. His CV covers time-saving computer software, air safety enhancements, and he’s even involved in designing luxury houses.
Anyone could have anticipated, though, that given his heritage he was always likely to reach the top. Traceable back to classical times and in fact Bredimus’ lineage can be linked to many nations in Europe. Within the maternal line he hails from Scottish and German ancestry. England and Luxembourg, meanwhile, provided home to Bredimus’ father’s family, although during the nineteenth century his family set off for America. Naturally, after arrival in the US, the family continued its drive and resolve to reach the top. Nicholas, as well as his siblings, was born to a father who made his living as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who was a practicing nurse. He would dwell in Texas for a number of years and also spent time in Scottsdale, AZ, Kansas City, MO and Reston, VA.
Once his schooling was complete, Nicholas Bredimus engaged in some very prominent posts for some of the most distinguished and largest airlines. Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA) — all three would at different times name him as a VP. Most celebrated, though, is his role as a creative programmer for the airlines. Bredimus is certainly most acclaimed for a US Airways project, inventing aircraft upkeep computer programs, which eventually evolved into an industry standard. He went on to create numerous other programs for the airline and hotel industry in addition, including unmanned programs for handling flight bookings, used by more than fifty firms, and the very first room reservation software on the PC deployed by the hotel sector, first put to use at over seven hundred locations. Following that he published an automatic, networked approach to selling tickets that stands as a first. Bredimus leveraged these achievements to advance into roles not at all related to software development, and continued to shine in these industries as well. He managed American Express’ IT division, started up Bredimus Systems seventeen years ago, and had the honor of becoming the first president of American Airlines’ AMR Travel Services. Is he still active? Most certainly– his unmatched abilities are called upon and at the ready despite his retirement. His involvement now is with the architectural questions behind the development of environmentally sound, hi tech high-priced condos. It’s incredible how far zeal can bring you…
