Overcoming that Slump

If you play a lot of poker online , you’ll inevitably experience the phenomenon as the slump or downswing. Even if you’re a good online poker player, you’ll hit it eventually. So I’m going to give you some advice on how to get through this rough water and back on winning ground. The first thing you have to do is figure out why you’re losing continually. Are you in a bad mood, playing on scared money, or just plain bored with the game. If you answered yes to any of the above, it may be time for a break until you’re ready to play again. Otherwise, you’re just going to worsen your predicament. Next you have to learn to avoid the infamous tilt that happens at the casino online . That occurrence where you just suffered a bad beat and you’re desperately trying to win money back. You’re not playing your cards, you’re playing with your emotions and that’s deadly to your bankroll. So if you’re in a slump, simply don’t tilt. And if you feel it coming on, get up and leave immediately. Refine your game. Look at why you started losing all of a sudden. Did you loosen up too much, or were you just a victim of a series of bad beats. If it’s the former, then tighten back up soldier and start playing your winning poker again. If it’s the latter, just realize that it’s part of the game and that the beats will pass. Finally, hone your patience skills. It’s been said a million times, you’re not always going to get dealt the nuts. Actually you’re rarely going to be dealt the nuts, so you have to learn to keep your game solid even if the cards are telling you that you shouldn’t be playing. Listen to them and don’t put in dead money when you could be folding and not losing anything. Take this advice and eventually you’ll come full circle back to your game where you can start winning again and get out of that nasty downswing that has been eating your chips.
