To win at poker online, you have to think logically and make decisions based on mathematical probabilities and attentive observation. There is no place in online poker for irrational guessing or superstition that will only degrade your game.
Don’t muddle up coincidence with reality when you are playing poker. The cards fall in random fashion, and each hand is separate from the others. Outside forces do not hold sway over the outcome of the game. Some players believe that lucky charms, or seats, or numbers, and even pieces of clothing can help them win. This is wishful thinking and has no rational basis.
Don’t let coincidences influence your decisions. Just because AK won or lost last time you had it, does not mean the same thing will happen next time you have those cards. The cards are always random, and one hand can never influence another. The only thing that can influence the outcome of a hand is the players and the actions they take.
Pay attention to your cards, the board and your opponents. That is the all information you need and the only criteria to use when making any betting decisions. Indulging in magical thinking that ascribes power to outside forces over the game’s outcome is foolish, and will interfere with playing your best game based on knowledge, experience and observation of the other players.
